THE LOTTERY
This is a book cover design for The Lottery and Other Stories, a collection of chilling tales by Shirley Jackson. The cover design focuses on the titled story, “The Lottery”, in which a village meet for an annual lottery with a terrible twist. The cover interprets the imagery of the lottery paper, old wooden ballet box and shadowed hand reaching inside using vector graphics and photographic textures. A bright red highlight was added to the black and white colour palette to represent the blood within the story.

NW
The novel NW by Zadie Smith is set in the NW postcode of London, with its plot following four characters faced with the challenges of urban life. Scanning and collaging textures informed the main design of the cover, cutting the various materials into a city scape. The dreary palette of the natural colours of the materials themselves helped to portray the smog and industrial nature of London and its architecture.

FRIMLEY LODGE PARK
These are promotional and information booklets for a local park, advertising the various features around the park. A combination of recycled kraft paper and sugar paper were used to give a natural aesthetic and keep a sustainable focus. The main design feature of the booklets are the cut and printed leaves, layered over the cover and more specifically, the heading. These bring attention to the cover and highlight the sustainable materials and ideology of the park.
